Cascade gateways feature an ARM A7 processor with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage – allowing them to run multiple edge applications and store data for batch delivery to the cloud. Ubuntu Core OS provides secure, containerized edge computing.
Our gateways also include Edge Connect, a configurable data pipeline for aggregating, filtering and delivering data from Bluetooth 5 and other wireless devices .
This saves IoT teams weeks or months of development time that would be required to create their own edge data applications.
Cascade gateways are AWS IoT Greengrass and Azure IoT certified.
Unlike many IoT solutions, Rigado gateways send data directly to customers’ cloud endpoints, services and applications – typically via MQTT or HTTPS.
This means that our customers’ data can flow directly to their cloud (or on-premise) systems and applications without incurring the cost or complexity of funneling through a separate cloud service first.
Customers and partners tell us this is a key point of differentiation for Rigado – as many of IoT edge solutions require data to flow through cloud backends that add cost, complexity and security risk.
Rigado’s cloud-based Edge Direct tools collect performance monitoring metrics about the Gateways via a separate MQTT connection, which does not include customer data.
Cascade gateways provide end-to-end security for IoT edge infrastructure, including ongoing security updates.
Gateways are secured from the start with an encrypted key and device ID at the point of manufacture.
Initial programming, configuration, provisioning, and all future updates are signed and verified for run-time protection.
Edge applications run in secure containers, on an encrypted OS and filesystem with Secure Boot. All data and communication is encrypted both at rest and in transit on the gateways.
The Cascade Edge-as-a-Service subscription includes evergreen security updates to keep devices safe in the field, even as new risks and vulnerabilities emerge.
