Bringing Bluetooth to Retail: Rigado Earns AWS Retail Competency

AWS re:Invent is one of the largest cloud and edge computing events of the year, covering a wide spectrum of technologies and markets. AWS announced in today’s keynote a new APN Retail Competency, and Rigado was one of a select few companies to earn that competency at launch.

What is an AWS competency? In their words: “AWS Competencies are granted to APN Partners who have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized solution areas.” Earning a competency – particularly a new one – is by no means simple. We are proud to have distinguished ourselves as the only IoT technology player included today.

Retail is just one of the markets Rigado serves, and it’s one of the fastest growing IoT verticals. Retailers are leveraging IoT solutions to improve the customer experience while better managing inventory, safety, and compliance needs. Our AWS Featured Case Studies illustrate the role Bluetooth sensors can play in a retail environment, while complementing the NFC and video capabilities we typically associate with Connected Retail.

We’re proud to have completed the rigorous application process to achieve this competency, alongside other retail market leaders. It’s a testament to the maturity of Rigado’s team and technologies that AWS was eager to promote us in their launch keynote!

Expect to see more news about Rigado, AWS and our Retail Competency as we head into January and the National Retail Federation Show (NRF) in New York. We have some exciting projects going on right now that we look forward to sharing. Now is a great time for IoT builders to deploy managed Bluetooth for retail.
