Much as we’d love to be in Germany this week for Embedded World 2016, life is just too busy here in Oregon to make the 5,300-mile trip to Nuremberg. But even though we’ll still be here in the Pacific Northwest eating consolation bratwursts, we’ll still be at EMB2016 in spirit.
Our friends at Nordic Semiconductor are set up in Hall 5, stand 374, and they’ve got samples of our BMD-300 Bluetooth Smart Module, based on Nordic’s brand new nRF52832
BLE SoC. There’s a tremendous amount of (completely justified) excitement around the nRF52, and our BMD-300 is the first module to market that uses Nordic’s remarkable system-on-chip.
The BMD-300 features Bluetooth 4.2 and power control that puts the “low energy” in “Bluetooth Low Energy module.” It intelligently switches off everything except the bare essentials when executing a task, ensuring ultralow power operations at all times.
It’s also the most versatile module we’ve ever created. In addition to supporting its predecessor’s UART, I2C and SPI interfaces, the BMD-300 also plays nicely with PWM, I2S, PDM, ADC and NFC, dramatically expanding IoT design possibilities.
And if you’re at Connected World, please say hi to Nordic for us, and tweet us a pic of the BMD-300 at @RigadoLLC!
